We are seeking an experienced, strategic Business Development Manager (BDM) to shape and win new business in our existing and emerging markets. This position will drive growth though the creation, identification, and qualification of new business opportunities. A key component to success is comprehensive internal and external customer interaction and creating the alignment of the company's value proposition with the customer's needs. The successful candidate will utilize the full breadth of company resources to solve our customer's challenges and demonstrate the ability to influence BAE Systems and customer stakeholders. The selected individual will be responsible for leading company engagements, identifying areas where BAE can solve customer problems within company constraints, and driving the creation of our solutions. This role will also contribute to the development of organizational strategy, the prioritization of new business pursuits, and the development of supporting capture strategies. This Business Development role reports directly to the Advanced Compact EW Solutions (ACES) Product Line Business Development Director. The right candidate will have a strong understanding of the DoD acquisition processes and the customer affinity to interface regularly with DoD aviation customers, platform primes, and supporting research organizations. The position will require frequent customer contacts and a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements, competitive landscape, and CEMA' products, capabilities, and technologies. A strong operational background will enhance the candidate's ability to maintain strong business relationships with key government and industry decision makers. The BD Sr. Manager will develop and maintain close, trusted partner relationships with offices of senior military and civilian US Government customers, current and prospective customers, as well as industry partners and suppliers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:--- Identify and qualify a robust pipeline of focused opportunities that align with business objectives;--- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to identify customer objectives, priorities, and requirements that strategically position BAE Systems as an innovative industry leader;--- Develop and maintain strong industry relations with large and small businesses with significant presence in the assigned markets;--- Team with product line leadership to provide counsel and recommendations for the bid/no bid gate reviews and collaborate with the Product Line Portfolio & Capture Team Leads for smooth turnover to proposal development;--- Conduct competitive analysis and develop Price to Wins (PTWs);--- Develop effective win strategies which include identifying and qualifying new opportunities. Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active Secret clearance, TS preferred
  • Strong understanding of the DoD acquisition process.
  • Ability to maintain customer relationships with Senior Government officials: Officer and Civilian Leadership, Colonel (O-6), Flag Officer and Senior Executive Service
  • Ability to establish and foster mutually beneficial relationships with and collaborate/partner with other BAE Systems businesses, Industry partners and our customers;
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with experience presenting at executive levels;Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Active Top Secret clearance
    • MS or MBA degree
    • Experience as DoD aviator
    • BD experience in a relevant USG market - Military and/or DoD/OSD experienceUnderstanding of industry best practices to win new business
    • Ability to establish and communicate strategic filters for business pursuits based upon strong business acumen;
    • Knowledge of and experience with obtaining customer and competitive intelligence and developing PTW analyses;Pay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
