Mission, .POSITION SUMMARY:Responsible for implementing treatment
plans and for the direct care and safety of the children residing
at Walden School.FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise children in daily routines and assist with the
activities of daily living skills.
- Support and assist children using methods which reflect the
treatment philosophy of Walden School.
- Develop and maintain meaningful and supportive relationships
with the children while maintaining appropriate adult/child
boundaries.
- Convey all pertinent information concerning students to other
staff via e-mail, logs and incident reports.
- Maintain current certification in PART, Pro-Act, OSHA, CPR and
First Aid.
- Utilize behavior management techniques that are consistent with
the Walden School mission statement and individual students'
treatment plans.
- Prepare living skills activities that are age and skill
appropriate for students in the unit.Please note this job

Requirements: At least one year of experience in a residential
treatment program or a degree in Human Services preferred Previous
experience with crisis prevention and ability to prevent harmful
behaviors preferred Must be able to remain calm, non-defensive with
a supportive attitude during crisis or potential crisis A minimum
of conversational fluency in American Sign Language required, with
native, or near-native ASL fluency preferredThis position is open
