Our products provide critical mission capabilities to address the ever-evolving challenges and threats to our nation's security and the war fighter.You will be an integrated team member, with leadership opportunities, collaborating with Systems, Hardware, and Test engineers in one or more of the phases of Project Planning, Requirements Development, Design, Development, Integration and Testing.You will prepare design and project documentation intended to be used within complex programs or across sets of programs in accordance with established processes. We will provide you opportunities to learn, leverage our current technologies, incorporate new technologies, and be a leader in our engineering organization. We put our customers first - exemplified by our mission: "We Protect Those Who Protect Us--."This opening is for a large and dynamic program developing an Electronic Warfare product onboard a military jet aircraft. The software is primarily real-time embedded and in C++ with additional opportunities in DevSecOps and tool design. The software team operates in a highly collaborative environment with mentorship readily available and ample opportunity to learn and grow. All phases of software development are underway in different technical areas, offering a variety of challenging work. This program is funded, in a growth phase and expected to continue for years to come.Job Responsibilities:

  • Duties include analyzing, designing, coding and code modification (typically in C++) of complex software designs for simple systems or subsystems or subsystems of larger systems.
  • Evaluate complex software designs to identify design flaws.
  • Establish communication to keep management informed of the function's progress and results.
  • Use existing processes and evolve processes to utilize the most effective new techniques as they become available, assuring the use of methodologies which minimize both design cost and product cost.
  • May provide, directly or indirectly, top level technical leadership for the assigned design discipline(s) including selection and exploitation of promising new technologies, long-term goals, etc.
  • Ensure effective communication between assigned engineers and all other participants in the design process.
  • Opportunities may be available to become a software technical lead, where you will mentor your team and present technical designs at customer meetings. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.#IJSRequired Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Secret Security Clearance (active within the past two years).
    • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field, and minimum of 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
    • Background in real-time embedded software development
    • Strong C++ experience
    • Foundation in Object-Oriented design and implementation principles
    • Experience with software and systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools
    • Experience performing software testing, validation, and verification activities

      • Master's Degree in Computer Science or Computer EngineeringPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $122870 - $208890Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
