The Neurological Clinical Research Institute (NCRI), at the
Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) is a premier Academic Clinical
Research Organization (ACRO) managing clinical trials in
neurological disorders. The NCRI employs physician clinical
researchers, advanced practice providers, research nurses, project
managers, data managers, SAS programmers, systems analysts, grants
managers and administrative assistants dedicated to planning and
implementing clinical trials.Reporting to the Director of Site
Research/Care Innovation of NCRI, the Clinical Outreach Program
Manager will develop programs and services for people with
neurological diagnoses through collaboration with partners in the
community and research space - including wellness, education, and
other services. We seek an experienced and dedicated Clinical
Research Outreach Program Manager to lead and coordinate outreach
efforts for clinical trials and research programs focused on
neurological diseases. The ideal candidate will work closely with
research teams, healthcare providers, patient communities, and
external stakeholders to raise awareness, recruit participants, and
support engagement in clinical research.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and oversee outreach strategies aimed at
recruiting and retaining participants for clinical research studies
focused on neurological diseases.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure outreach strategies
align with study protocols and participant criteria.
- Cultivate relationships with patient communities, caregivers,
and healthcare professionals to raise awareness of ongoing research
and clinical trials.
- Organize and facilitate educational events, workshops,
webinars, and seminars aimed at increasing knowledge and
participation in clinical research related to neurological
disorders.
- Serve as a key point of contact for participants and
caregivers, ensuring culturally competent communication,
understanding of the research process, and addressing any
concerns.
- Design and execute participant recruitment strategies,
utilizing both digital and in-person outreach, in partnership with
marketing and community partners.
- Work closely with Principal Investigators, Clinical Research
Coordinators, and other research staff to ensure alignment between
outreach efforts and study needs.
- Act as a liaison between research teams and external partners,
ensuring that communication is clear, and objectives are met.
- Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., marketing,
communications, patient navigator) to create outreach materials
tailored to the needs of the target populations.
- Track and report on outreach activities, participant engagement
metrics, recruitment outcomes, and retention rates.
- Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of outreach strategies
and make data-driven decisions to optimize future efforts.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and patient privacy
regulations (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.) throughout all stages of the
recruitment and retention process.
- Escalate issues to Project Manager responsible for assigned
projects, as appropriate.
- Takes on additional tasks and responsibilities, as
requested.QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- 2+ years of experience in clinical research, patient
recruitment, or outreach program management, preferably within the
neurology field.
- Background/familiarity with biology or other scientific
discipline is preferred, but not
required.SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Knowledge of federal regulations relating to the protection of
human subjects and good clinical practice guidelines is preferred,
but not required.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational and analytical
skills are required.
- Excellent computer skills working with Microsoft Office are
required.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication
skills.
- Team player who can take direction to work independently in an
extremely fast-moving, deadline-driven environment, while balancing
multiple tasks simultaneously.WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Standard Office conditions.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time for scheduled study and
community group meetings as well as for academic conferences.FISCAL
RESPONSIBILITY:No direct responsibility but may assist project
managers to track site payments according to grant budgets, as
