Manager, Materials Management and Logistics Position

Catalent's global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and
Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The
site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple
commercial-scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging.
On-site spray dryers include best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and
SD7, the latter being the largest CGMP unit of its kind for DPI in
North America.Catalent Pharma Solutions is hiring a Manager,
Materials Management and Logistics who is responsible for Catalent
Boston's site related supply chain activities, including all
inbound and outbound material flow, inventory management, raw
material planning, and execution of all inbound and outbound
logistics. Directing and managing the activities of the materials
management functional group this position develops and implements
strategies to ensure efficiency in material flow, the timely
purchase and usage of materials, ensures adequate materials
inventory for manufacturing activities and works with Finance to
ensure accounting compliance. This individual identifies and
corrects inefficiencies in the material flow process and works with
Quality Assurance and other stakeholders to resolve any and all
compliance gaps associated with inventory control and materials
management.This is a full time, salaried role. The core hours are

- Develops and implements strategies to manage materials
management operations, by reviewing materials processes,
identifying problem areas and establishing action plans for
improvement;
- Directs reviews of inventory levels to ensure maximum ability
to meet customer needs and minimize inventory costs;
- Develops and implements strategies to manage the timely
procurement of goods and services
- Manages all Materials related functions to support the product
fulfillment process;
- Lead in the planning/implementation of procedural changes
related to Materiel ordering, GMP Storage and Distribution;
- Identify and report cGMP compliance issues as necessary;
- Manage the Materials and Logistics Management team ensuring:
Regular team member performance reviews, appropriate training and
development plans, daily task completions, weekly and monthly
metric reporting;
- Manage cGMP inventory control processes ensuring accurate
inventory and efficient inventory ordering practices including:
Cycle counting & Physical inventory, Kanban, Min/Max, visual
controls (5s); --
- Manage materials management processes to: Maximize Ready To
Execute production availability; minimize excess & obsolescent
stock; optimize inventory investment levels;
- Leads all supply chain and warehouse continuous improvement
projects to ensure systems, process improvement and capability
building activities are completed on time and on budget.

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Production Planning and Control,
Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related
discipline required. Masters Degree Preferred.
- Experience with Financial principles for inventory cost
monitoring.
- Previous experience with electronic ERP system required.
- 5+ years of experience in materials management, procurement,
supply chain, Pharmaceuticals (GMP) production, continuous
improvement, or related field required;
- Minimum of 2 years of management experience required;
- ASCM CPIM or CSCP certification preferred;
- Lean Six Sigma Green or Black belt preferred;
- Ability to deploy a continuous improvement mindset, using
presence and influence to solve complex problems;
- Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but
not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership
programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may
be considered in place of external experience
- Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and
