Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Histology Manager to join our team at Cambridge Health Alliance. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality technical performance and managing the day-to-day operations of the Histology - Cytology Laboratory.Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Laboratory Director in interviewing and training new employees
• Coordinate the orientation and training of new employees
• Responsible for annual review, training, and competency of all staff
• Develop and review procedures and policies for the department
• Work on the bench as needed to process and prepare surgical specimens
• Evaluate new laboratory techniques and procedures
• Manage inventory, purchasing, and budgeting for the department
• Maintain the laboratory in a state of readiness for CAP, JCAHO, and CLIAA inspections
• Participate in committees and task force meetings
• Conduct regular department meetings with staff
• Review and maintain quality control data and instrument maintenance recordsRequirements
  • ASCP certification
  • HT certification required
  • BS in a Biological Science or Chemistry preferred
  • 5 years of full-time experience within the last 10 years
  • Successful completion of a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist program with HTL certification preferredPreferred Qualifications
    • Excellent communication and organizational skills
    • Experience with instrumentation, troubleshooting, and quality control systems
    • Computer skills, including Word, Excel, and Meditech
