Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network architecture on-premises and on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with direct collaboration with third-party providers.
As a valuable part of our team, this position will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the Bank's network infrastructure with a strong emphasis on implementing and optimizing security measures to safeguard our network infrastructure.


Responsibilities:

Design, implement and maintain network security solutions to safeguard the bank's information assets.
Implement and maintain network security groups, access controls and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Monitor third-party security solutions, ensuring seamless operation and adherence to service levels and KPIs.
Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting and resolving complex network security issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
Monitor network traffic for signs of security threats and respond promptly to incidents conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Plan and engineer solutions to solve existing threats and security issues, particularly, drive the remediation of any Security-related findings resulting from IT Audits and Federal Reserve Examinations.
Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and address potential system vulnerabilities.
Maintain and manage Identity and Access controls, ensuring secure user and service account permissions and regularly review access controls to maintain a secure environment.
Stay abreast of emerging security threats, industry best practices, and latest advancements in network security technologies and processes to improve the overall security of the network system and proactively implement preventive measures.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement security policies, standards, and procedures.
Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies related to network security, including GLBA Day and Night-related Audits.
Perform any other network-related duties as assigned by the Head of Technology.

Qualifications:

A network engineer degree, telecom engineer degree, or BS/BE degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related IT fields.
Proven experience as a system network engineer or information security engineer with a focus on network security in the banking or financial industry.
Strong knowledge of system administration, including Windows and Linux environments
Proficient in network protocols, routing, and switching technologies.
Proficient in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python or Bash
Strong understanding of firewall configurations, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and other network security technologies.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP and IP addressing, LAN Technology including Ethernet and Ethernet switching, and routing fundamentals.
In-Depth knowledge of Identity Access Management technologies such as OKTA and protocols, such as Auth0, SAML and OpenID Connect.
Understanding of web-related terminologies and software such as web applications, web related protocols, service-oriented architectures, and web services.
Demonstrated experience in collaborating with third-party vendors to implement and maintain security solutions including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve incidents.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
